  • 2. Q: Why should I donate blood?  A: Safe blood saves lives and improves health. Blood transfusion is needed for:  women with complications of pregnancy, such as ectopic pregnancies and hemorrhage before, during or after childbirth;  children with severe anemia often resulting from malaria or malnutrition;  people with severe trauma following accidents; and  many surgical and cancer patients. Thalssemia Patients .  Someone has to give blood in order for someone to receive blood
  • 3. Who can donate? Age: 16,18 - 60 years Weight : > 45 kgs Hemoglobin level: >12 gms/dl for men and 12.5 gms/dl for women In good health
  • 4. Give life It Is In Your Blood. In Pakistan Volunteer Donation is Less then 20%  In 62 countries this ratio is around 100%.  Your Blood is important for the one who is in need. 
  • 5. Blood Donation in ISLAM It was asked to DR. Zakir Naik about the concept of Blood donation in Islam. Dr.Zakir gave 3 points.  1)- It should be necessary for the survival of acceptor.  2)- It should not cause a problem to the donor.  3)- It should not be for money 
  • 6. Effects on Donors Health If your weight is about 56 kg and you are a Healthy adult  Then blood donation causes NO DAMAGE to health.   Infact it has HEALTHY effect on your body.  It increases the Erythropoietin level . Due to which the process of blood formation increases and new healthy cells are formed. 
  • 7. Health benefits: Regular donation (2-3 times a year….) Lowers cholesterol Lowers lipid levels Decreases incidence of heart attacks, strokes. 
