Details of Contact Applied Entrepreneurship

  1. 1. Natalie Doherty Applied EntrepreneurshipEmail template I sent out to possible funders, the first was to the FirstMinister and Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland. View below myemail to check their response and response from many others  Contact wasmade with Noelle McAlinden from City of Culture office, this was thecontact I decided to persue. We had further communications through emailand I then met her at the City of Culture offices where I pitched my ideaand she seemed very positive and eager to help in anyway. Noelle gave meaccess to contacts to learn further about art therapy to enable me to make alesson place. Once the lesson plan was complete which it is now, I am tocontact her to discuss further and get things underway.Dear Mr Robinson and Mr Mc Guinness,I am sorry for this cold call email! My name is Natalie Doherty and I amemailing you for advice with my Masters project. What do think of a project that raises the issue of targeting social needs andcreates new methods and approaches,to adequately target those affected byconflict and trauma in Northern Ireland? The project i have incorporates thefield of art therapy and photography, promoting healing, wellness and self-actualization. Benefiting to countless people and could make an invaluableresource to healthcare providers and educators throughout the North.Derry is known for being filled with creative talent, I want to unlock some of
  2. 2. that undiscovered potential that I know Derry has to offer with a series ofPhotography workshops or courses around the city. Potentially leading to anexhibition of the students work. With the current accolade of City ofCulture I believe this is a fantastic opportunity for the creative culture of thepeople of Derry to shine. Adding to the moral of the people and excellentpublicity for the City of Culture.I am currently studying a Masters in Design Communication at theUniversity of Ulster, Magee after completing my BA(hons) in Photographyfrom the University of Creative Arts, Surrey in 2010. I am also undertakinga counselling course at H.U.R.T in Derry/LDerry.Helping people of all ages through my talents in the visual arts, photographyand design is a real passion of mine, I aspire to use my qualifications andcreative talents towards a career in art therapy.I would appreciate theopportunity to explain further, interested in meeting?Look forward to hearing,Many thanks Natalie Doherty07872939774nataliedoherty@live.comDear NatalieThank you for your email below regarding your Masters project. As the FirstMinister ad deputy First Minister are unable to respond personally to all thecorrespondence they receive, I have been asked to reply. Your ideas for yourMasters project are imaginative and you have clearly given a great deal ofthought to the proposals and how best to use your creative talents. Arttherapy and its use in healthcare would be a matter for the Department ofHealth, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) and, as you haveexpressed a particular interest in a career in art therapy, you may wish tocontact DHSSPS direct for further advice and information.Best wishes for continued success with your studies and your future career.Yours sincerely,
