    6th December 2010
  • 2. 1. Digital Death
There have been all sorts of interesting awareness campaigns happening across the globe to support World AIDS Day. In Australia, Bono helped paint the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge Red, while in the US they’ve been running this very cool donation campaign called “Digital Death” where some of the world’s most famous celebs have stopped posting on Twitter and Facebook profiles until 1 million dollars is donated to BuyLife.org. Very clever way of pushing donations for those hungry for celeb gossip.

    3. Ah sure its grand
If you’ve ever dreamed about strutting down the runway during one of the most highly-publicized fashion shows of the year, then New York City is going to help you partially indulge in that fantasy. From November 19th through to the 30th Victoria’s Secret’s SoHo store will be displaying nine different sets of wings that have been worn by models like Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima, and giving passersby the opportunity to pose in front of them and have their picture taken. The photos will then be uploaded to the Victoria’s Secret Facebook page so you can share them with friends.
Being at the epicentre of the Eurozone debt crisis after being the poster child of neo liberal capitalist success would be enough to make most countries gloomy. But its not the case for us good olirish. Aside from websites highlighting Ireland’s good side one local graphic designer has used an ironic homage to an iconic British wartime poster to lift national spirits here. Rather than urging us to “keep calm and carry on” these posters are the quintessential Irish response; just remember ‘it’ll be grand’.
And that’s not all as there is an economic recovery plan at the root of the posters:
One euro will go to the state for every poster sold, the ultimate goal being to sell 42 billion posters worldwide, thus halving the debt incurred by the banking crisis.

  • 8. 4. Wonderbra: 3D billboard
Wonderbra in the UK has unveiled its first 3D billboard poster that marks the launch of an integrated campaign by iris to promote its new Full effect bra. The 48-sheet poster kick starts a range of brand engagement initiatives to span digital, experiential, media partnerships and PR, which will work together to put the brand directly in touch with its female target audience.
The campaign, called Full effect your life, will see Wonderbra give three girls the opportunity to win one of three life-enriching experiences: Become a fashion journalist with a weeks internship at Cosmopolitan.co.uk; discover the secrets of a fashion stylist by shadowing Grace Woodward of Britains Next Top Model; or delve into the mind of a fashion buyer on a trip to Paris with leading vintage site WeLoveVintage.

  • 10. 5. Gap clever use of four square
As far as social integrations within banner ads go, the Facebook “like” button rules supreme. Yet, it’s no secret that Gap loves Foursquare, having previously offered shoppers 25% discounts for check-ins.
Recently, the retailer unveiled a new online ad campaign featuring an “Add To Foursquare” button which could prompt other retail brands to follow suit, given the ads can directly drive foot traffic with a discount. The location-aware ads feature Gap holiday fashion deals and appear on several sites .When the “Add to Foursquare” button is clicked, the wanted item is added to a Gap to-do list and the shopper is entitled to a 30% discount on any regular priced Gap item. Also, as part of the campaign, Gap will be donating $1 for each add the charity of Foursquare’s choosing, CampInteractive.
