This slide deck explains Multi Currency feature inbuilt in Manager Panel and contains the explanation around activation, configuration & finally using multiple currencies on a single instance of Manager Panel. All back office multi-currency operations are seamlessly integrated with Dynamics ERP multi-currency module. This slide deck does not cover details of how multi currency module of Dynamics ERP operate. Please refer to Dynamics ERP user manuals for the same. Multi currency feature gives you flexibility in letting your customers transact in a particular currency based on the eCommerce channel they are visiting. It also lets the shopper to transact in a single currency that they are configured in. This customer specific currency is made available across all stores as soon as the shopper logs in.

CURRENCY ACTIVATIONHow to activate Currency?  As a Manager Panel User/CSR, you need to activate currencies before you can use them. “USD” currency is active in a new installation by default.  Manager Panel User/CSR can ACTIVATE any currency from available list of currencies by following steps: Go to Manager Panel Administration Currencies Click on Edit button and fill in the field – ERP Currency ID set Active to “YES” (Currency will not reflect on web store if not activated to “Yes”) NOTE: ERP Currency ID is the currency code used by ERP System for the chosen currency. For ex: Dynamics GP 2010 uses Z-US$ for US Dollars

CURRENCY CONFIGURATIONHow to configure Currency for web store?  Default Currency for Web store can be configured by creating new channels where the Channel Type should be “Web Store Front”.  Navigation: Manager Panel Basic Settings Channels All Channels  Manager Panel User/CSR would click on “New Channel”, select Channel Type as “Web Store Front”, provide other required details and select the Guest Currency in order to create new Channel. NOTE: This Guest Currency for Channels cannot be changed once Channel is created.

This Currency is defaulted whenever a new shopper is registered under that Class.  Navigation: Manager Panel Customers Setup Customer Class  Manager Panel User Edits Customer Class to set the assigned Currency for the Class.  He then Selects currency from Default Currency dropdown, The dropdown contains only Active Currencies. Default Channel Currency would apply to all Guest Shoppers Whereas Default Customer Class currency would apply to new Registered Shoppers. Individual Shopper currency (Copied from Customer Class during Registration) will apply to REGISTERED Shoppers. This Currency can be modified per Shopper.

CURRENCY CONFIGURATIONHow to configure Payment Gateway per Store per Currency?  Multi-Currency feature enables the Merchant to configure payment gateways per currency. This means that you can accept payments in different currencies via different gateways while running a single web store. If you are running multiple web stores for each currency, then you can use web store specific gateway feature.  If your payment gateway supports multi-currency transaction, then you can use the same gateway with different account credentials. This separation can be used for multi-currency bank reconciliation.  To configure Currency Specific Payment Gateways, the steps are provided at a database level as of now. However, UI for the same will be available in near future in Manager Panel . NOTE: Payment Gateways that do not support the chosen currency, may or may not throw an error depending on Gateway Behavior. Ignify eCommerce & Order Entry passes the currency code whenever the gateway accepts this field. It is recommended that you carefully review & approve your TEST transactions both in Ignify eCommerce or Order Entry & Payment Gateway Interface before Go Live.

Payment Gateway Master Table  TblPaymentGateways This is a master table that stores all the information about payment Gateways. Relevant fields are explained in TblPaymentGateways table shown at left corner. Payment Gateway to Store & Currency Relationship  PaymentConfiguration This table details out which gateway would be used for a particular web store and particular currency.

This pricing can be entered in Manager Panel or Price Contracts can be imported from supported ERP Systems.  Depending on Web Store & Shopper Configuration, the web store decides what pricing to show to the Shopper. Price engine receives currency input from the logged in shopper’s currency or web store currency (for Guest Visitors) and the chosen currency is then used to calculate prices. Default Channel Currency would apply to all Guest Shoppers. Default Customer Class currency would apply to new Registered Shoppers. Individual Shopper currency (Copied from Customer Class during Registration) will apply to REGISTERED Shoppers. This Currency can be modified per Shopper.

Manager Panel User can set unit price for an Item in multiple currencies from the Currency Drop Down. (Drop Down contains only Active Currencies).  Select one Currency at a time and enter unit price for multiple quantities as shown at left corner.

PRICING-ORDER ENTRYHow multi-currency works in Order creation?  Navigation: Manager PanelSalesOrdersCreate Order  Manager Panel User/CSR clicks on Create Order link and selects Customer details.  Selects the Currency from Currency dropdown which reflects “Active” Currencies in the system.  When Order lines are added , system would calculate unit price based on the currency chosen at the header level. During Order placement, Order Currency is defaulted from Customer Master. This currency can be modified by the Manager Panel User/CSR as required.

Default Channel Currency would apply to all Guest Shoppers Whereas Default Customer Class currency would apply to new Registered Shoppers. Individual Shopper currency (Copied from Customer Class during Registration) will apply to REGISTERED Shoppers. This Currency can be modified per Shopper.

Ex: On setting fixed promotion of 10 would give a USD 10 promotion or EURO 10 promotion depending on currency used in transaction.

FEW CONSIDERATIONS Features not compatible with multi-currency  Shipping Quotations – Only UPS & FedEx carriers are supported for multi-currency Shipping Quotations. These carriers determine the currency based on “Ship To” destination. “Ship To” Country Drop Downs should be restricted to force currency specific real time shipping quotations.  Google Checkout supports only single currency hence it cannot be used in a multi-currency environment.  Authorize.net CIM Service does not support Non USD currency. You can use it for US eCommerce Web Stores but not international.  Avalara Tax Engine offers taxes only for US and Canada & supports US & Canadian currencies only.  Few Payment Gateways support multi currencies while a majority are a single currency gateway. Kindly discuss with your payment gateway provider to get more details.
