Easy handling: The system is configured and ready for use within a few minutes – with PC software or directly on the sensor. Multicode reader type O2I The compact all-rounder. The compact unit is installed using the suitable mounting set and connected to the controller (PLC) via the process interface. Parameter setting is done via an Ethernet cable using a common PC. Powerful identification. In addition to th Data Matrix code ECC200, the ifm multicode reader handles further 2D and 1D codes. Reading is not dependent on the orientation of th code to the sen- sor. Even dama- ged or soiled codes are reliabl identified, even if 28 % of the information has been damaged. Further functions include the out- put of the code position via the process interface adjustable total
  • 5. 5 quality parame- ters, individual illumination set- tings for each configuration in a group, integrated fault memory and access protection with password. The professional software of the multicode reader takes the high reading reliability of the Data Matrix code to a new dimension. Top choice for price/perfor- mance: the multicode reader provides high functionality and performance at the price of a sensor. Optimum illumination. In addition to an automatic expo- sure setting, manual adjust- ment is also possible. Four lighting segments can be deactivated and activated manu- ally. So optimum results are achiev-ed even with highly re- flective metal surfaces. The ifm multicode reader detects numerous 2D and 1D codes. The standardised 2D code can be applied in different ways: printed on paper, engraved by laser or dot- peened onto a metal surface. Production control for solar modules of the company Conergy AG: the decision in favour of the multi- code reader was taken due to its high reading rate. The compact dimensions and the integrated lighting ensure installation requiring only little space. O2I in the application. There is a wide range of applica- tions for the mul- ticode reader in industry— from product tracking and production control to product identification. They are used for the automotive and food indus- tries, conveying, the production of solar installations as well as ma- chine tools and print machines. Ready for operation at once: No programming for read / write systems with AS-Interface. The stored value is automatically provided by the transponder when the antenna is passed. Certified: The AS-Interface certification guarantees interoperability in automation technology. RFID system DTS125 Keep track of the workpiece. Plug and Play also for the hardware: connection via M12 connector or AS-i splitter box. The DTS125 system can be integrated into AS-i networks in no time and is ready for operation immediately. In addition to the lower cost for hardware, this also saves time during set-up. The DTS125 RFID system ensures smooth logistics flow on a production line for transmissions. All workpiece carriers can be identified by means of RFID. Optical processes such as bar codes were eliminated due to the severe operating conditions (oils, metal swarf). The DTS125 RF identification system from ifm is an industriall compatible iden- tification system in125 KHz tech- nology. It is the first RFID system for AS-Interface worldwide.

  • 12. Efficient control of processes with RFID. The DTE100 RFID system can be operated with different antennas with 125 KHz (LF) or 13.56 MHz (HF). Inductive RFID technology The RFID system (RadioFrequency IDentification) from ifm elec- tron-ic generates an electromagne- tic field for rea- ding and writing of data. The electro- magnetic field emitted by the antenna induces voltage in the passive ID tag (transformer principle). This activates the ID tag (transpon- der) which re- turns its code. Process-ing of the code and transmission e.g. to the AS-Inter- face are carried out in the read / write head. Advantage: reli- able data trans- mission in dynamic reading processes Depen- ding on application, range, data volu- mes, and read / write dis-tances different RFID frequencies are used, e.g. 125 KHz (LF), 13.56 MHz (HF), 868 MHz (UHF, Europe) and913 MHz (UHF, USA). Example: RF identification system DTS125 with integrated antenna. read / write system antenna ID tag
