  • A collection of advice I have received over the last 10 years or more that was worth more than I paid for it.
  • Be a Requisite Organisation Key concepts: Management Stratum and Complexity of Mental Processing Just read the book and do it. The sooner the better.
  • Business Leaders spend at least half their time looking out
  • “ Have an advisory board”. Great advice from David Peters CEO of Emagine International (http://www.emagineinternational.com/) You can’t build it tomorrow, but you need one so keep an eye out for suitable candidates and commit to having one.
  • Get a Business Coach
  • Build something unique
  • Export
  • Commoditise your complement (from The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing) Google have taken this further by creating high value commodities themselves to complement their core business. For companies like ours, identify other complements to the commodities that are non-competitive with the guys creating them. eg: Android handsets.
  • Read Obama reads recreationally for an hour every night. Keep your mind open.
