  • Investigate a range of IT resources to Engage senior students who are significantly behind their chronological reading age. M a ia H et a ra k a
  • RATIONALE This group of students are behind their chronological age across curriculum areas. They were causing me concern as I was having difficulty engaging them in any learning.

  • Tpack I used ican Animate, Digistore, Piclits and Storyjumper. I learnt about these applications and how to use them through assistance from colleagues and on the Apple Bus Tour. I taught the students how to use them by doing whole class teaching on the projector, one-on-one teaching and reciprocal teaching.
  • Tpack Content The target area was literacy. This group of children were reading and writing at 5 years old. The next step for these students was to move them into reading with some fluency and to write with phonological awareness. stages of my students and maybe graph

  • Results E-learning has allowed these students to take part in everyday classroom learning. The students have been able to successfully use applications and engage in their own learning. Both students have been able to participate to their own ability with e-learning without the same pressure from their peers that they may have in the traditional classroom setting.
