BOLOGNA SUSTAINABLEBologna has just renovated its overall vision of the sustainable development of itsterritory putting into work three main planning instruments: the new Master Plan(PSC), the Traffic Plan (PGTU) and the Energy Program (PEC), approved between2007 and 2008, and built with extended participated processes.These plans base their strategies upon sustainability goals for he city among which:reduce the CO2 emissions and adapt to climate change;improve quality of urban environment even in terms of quality of public spaces andgreen areas and reduction of air pollution and noise;improve local sustainable mobility.This vision of the city is the result of a significant effort undertaken in last decadesreconfirmed in 2006 with the signature of the Aalborg commitments. This documentincludes tangible commitments aimed at the improvement of the quality of life inEuropean cities concerning specific areas of urban intervention: governance, localmanagement for sustainability, common natural resources, responsible consumptionand lifestyles, urban planning and design, sustainable mobility, health, localsustainable economy, equity and social justice, local and global relations.Environmental dep. was responsible for his the implementation
