  • 3. Dr. Ilona Buchem/E-Portfolio Initiative Berlin ePortfolio for all? In 2003 EIfEL launched the campaign "ePortfolio for all". The main objective: in 2010 all European citizens will have access to an ePortfolio . ePortfolios will benefit citizens by facilitating mobility , transparency and recognition for lifelong and lifewide learning and work experience. ePortfolio is the medium of choice for the 21st century lifelong learner and knowledge worker. Dr. Ilona Buchem/E-Portfolio Initiative Berlin ePortfolio in Germany “ The e-portfolio community in Germany is not as visible, vivid, and sustainable as it is for instance in United Kingdom or Austria. There is no policy support by public authorities at the federal or regional level. Activities are limited to local research, to development of proprietary e-portfolio solutions, and to pilot studies.”

    • EPIB aims at:
      • connecting stakeholders and facilitating knowledge transfer
      • raising awareness of the potentials of e-portfolio and visibility of
      • e-portfolio activities in the region
      • supporting sustainable implementation of e-portfolios in Berlin

Dr. Ilona Buchem/E-Portfolio Initiative Berlin Approach We follow a bottom-up approach to fostering the readiness of organisations for a scalable and sustainable implementation of e-portfolio It is based on local activities and depends on private actors . It cannot be planned but supported. private actors, local activities organisations policy

Dr. Ilona Buchem/E-Portfolio Initiative Berlin Strategy   build a network of experts and stakeholders in the region, facilitate synergies through collaboration with local organisations; forge strong partnerships and enable knowledge transfer (meetings, workshops, web); support dissemination of ePortfolio activities; win support of government agencies as a critical source for sustainability.

Dr. Ilona Buchem/E-Portfolio Initiative Berlin Current activities developed at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin; focawa = foc us and awa ke; an portfolio appendage which combined self-assessment-workshops with webbased ePortfolio-applications; tested in three courses with a total of 50 students; evaluation and revision at the end of this winter semester 2010/11.
