1- Before revising: • Take a break from your writing, if only for five minutes. This will allow you to approach your paper with a fresh mind.
2- Then revising takes place:• A- Read your paragraph slowly from the beginning to the end.• B- Read it out loud and focus on the following: – The title of your paragraph: Ask yourself: "Dose the title briefly describe and reflect the purpose of the paper? – Topic sentence / main idea: Does the topic sentence state what your paragraph speaking of? If not change it and write a suitable topic sentence. – Supporting details: Does each supporting detail relate clearly to the topic sentence? If not, omit the one that doesnt relate. – Concluding sentence: Does your paragraph have a clear conclusion that brings your idea to closure? Does the concluding sentence restate the main idea and summarize the supporting details?
