Some of the problems were due to RDz performance issues, and others were simply the inevitable “human factors consequence” that occur when change is introduced into a shop. Solution Expert assistance was proposed to improve product performance - through modifications to the RDz Client and Server configuration files. In order to contain costs, the Standard Quickstart was selected - which introduced the shop’s veteran TSO/ISPF developers to professional RDz instruction and mentoring. Implementation IBM assisted the customer with remote Server/Client installation optimization - providing the Systems Programming staff with best practices for RDz tuning. This was followed by monthly Distance Learning and RDz mentoring (both 1X1/on-site mentoring and on-demand mentoring over the first four months of product use) for graduates of the Distance Learning education. Value Adoption became widespread - classes started filling up and RDz’s benefits began to receive viral marketing from the customer’s own development staff.   10. 10. © 2013 IBM Corporation IBM Software | Rational Financial Services Client uses the Extended Quickstart to maximize their product ROI Need This Fortune 500 shop had made a significant investment in RDz technology after an extended Proof-of-Concept study and were eager to start realizing benefits and recouping the software expense and internal personnel costs. They wanted an accelerated path to their ROI. Solution Expert assistance was proposed to do an efficient RDz Server and Client configuration, stress test and optimization. Followed by on-site, instructor-led customized training and extensive 1X1 mentoring which was delivered in person so that users were enabled. On-demand, remote mentoring was also provided to handle the occasional“how to” questions or concerns. Implementation IBM assisted the customer with remote Server/Client installation optimization - providing the Systems Programming staff with best practices for RDz installation and tuning. This was followed by on-site training and RDz mentoring (both 1X1/on-site mentoring) and on-demand mentoring over the first four months of product use for graduates of the Distance Learning education. Value The customer achieved over 90% adoption in the first six months of product use. Deployment is continuing to other groups and divisions.
