    • The Lost World Project The Adventure of a Lifetime: Itinerary 2011
      • The Lost World Project – The Adventure of a Lifetime
      • Expedition Itinerary –
      • Please note the first expedition departs London on Saturday April 2 nd , and returns on Tuesday April 12 th . The second expedition departs London on Saturday April 16 th , and returns on Tuesday April 26 th and the itinerary for both expeditions are set out below:
      • Arrive in Caracas
      • Travel to Cuidad Bolivar
      • Transfer to 4x4 and travel to starting point of the expedition – Santa Elena
      • On route pick up permits from the National Parks Office
      • 4x4 tour across the Gran Sabana
      • Visit the beautiful Kama Waterfall
      • Visit the world famous Jasper Creek (pictured)
      • At night the group will get their first glimpse of Mount Roraima
      • Starting point of the trek
      • Pass savannah wildlife including giant anteaters
      • Build tents at Rio Tek Camp, next to the Kukenan River
      • The ascent of Mount Roraima begins
      • Group members will climb up the lower slopes of Mount Roraima
      • The most strenuous day of the trek, but it is through some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet
      • Early start as the group climb the dramatic ledge up the gigantic cliffsides of Mount Roraima
      • By early afternoon the group will explore the spectacular scenery and bizarre wildlife of Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘lost world’.
      • Group members trek north to explore Mount Roraima’s spectacular labyrinths of towering stone pinnacles and a valley lined with shimmering quartz crystals
      • The group will explore Mount Roraima’s underground ancient cave system – the largest quartz caves in the world
      • In the afternoon the group will be guided across the summit and view the sunset
      • After four days on the plateaus summit the group begins its descent.
      • Camp near the Kukenan River at the Rio Kukenan Camp
      • Final night near the towering cliffside of Mount Roraima
      • The expedition members trek from Rio Kukenan camp back to the Amerindian village of Paratepui
      • The group is picked up by 4x4 vehicles and travel to Santa Elena for a well earned drink and shower
      • The group is chauffeured from Santa Elena to Cuidad Bolivar
      • The final night in Venezuela is spent in the historic city centre of Cuidad Bolivar
      • An early start sees the group leave Cuidad Bolivar for Caracas, arriving in time for afternoon and evening flights back to the UK.
