  • 2. In-Field P2 Workflow Always have two verified copies of the P2 volume before reformatting card. To AMP or Client Panasonic P2 Reader Laptop External Field Drive Direct delivery to be placed on hold To AMP or copied as in-house archive. To AMP or Client External Field Drive Panasonic AG-HPG10 Always have two verified copies of the Host Mode P2 volume before (See Manual) reformatting card.
  • 3. In-Field P2 Workflow 1. Verify Delivery Platform/Transfer Environment/Gear 2. Log cards on P2 transfer log during shoot if possible. 3. Verify file structure and naming protocol before transfer. Make sure card is right protected before transfer. 4. Verify volume size and clips before reformatting cards. Always have two copies of the verified volume before reformatting the card. 5. Reformat cards.
  • 4. 1. Before the Shoot Verify Delivery Platform - Who’s laptop? Who’s hard drive(s)? Mac or PC format on the hard drive(s)? Is the client requesting special deliverables like DVDs with timecode? Verify Transfer Environment - What are the shoot logistics? How much footage? What format? Where will you be transferring the files? When will you be transferring the files? Verify Your Gear - P2 Reader/Transfer Cables (Firewire/USB)/Power Cables/Laptop/Hard Drive

  • 6. 3a. Create File Structure The file structure for each download is set up on the hard drive/laptop and is used to organize your P2 volumes. The file structure/naming must remain consistent. Never use generic names like “card 1” without qualifying it. Always preface the card number with the client name and date. Reel Folder Example: Brinker_11_25_09_Card01
  • 7. 3b. Verify File Structure Then Copy Card CARD SHOULD BE RIGHT- PROTECTED LAPTOP/EXTERNAL FIELD DRIVE P2 VOLUME HARD DRIVE SHOOT DATE FOLDER REEL FOLDER P2 VOLUME COPY TRANSFER STATUS BAR
  • 8. 4a. Verify Clip Size Select the CONTENTS folder inside the P2 Volume and and choose File>Get Info. Compare it’s size with the CONTENTS folder inside the corresponding Reel Folder. They should be the same.
  • 9. 4b. Visually Verify Clips Choose Reel Folder(s) Verify Thumbnails If a clip is grayed out it must be repaired in the camera. See “repair clip” in the camera’s manual. FINAL CUT PRO LOG AND TRANSFER WINDOW
  • 10. 5. Reformat P2 Cards Panasonic AG-HPG10 Panasonic HVX200 P2 FORMATTER 2. Select slot number and 1.
