  • 1. Senior Capstone ’11Melissa Buchanico
  • 2. Fillies Pee Wee For my capstone I coached a pee wee softball team. The girls ranged from six through nine year olds.
  • 3. 21st Ward Softball There are five different teams; royal, purple, teal, gold, and navy. There are three different age levels; pee wee, junior, and senior. I have been playing softball there since I was six.
  • 4. GoalsTo give younger girls inspiration to play the game ofsoftball and go out from playing softball in this leaguewith a bang.
  • 5. Steps that were taken... Contact the commissioner and receive permission to coach my own team. Find an outside mentor. Meet the team and review the rules. Enjoy the season.
  • 6. The Team.I was assigned 11 girls; Brooke, Molly, Erin, Jalynn,Grace, Shawna, Olivia, Delanie, Sarah, Paige, andCarolynn.My job was to figure out their skill level.

  • 19. Reflection If I were to coach again, I would start by communicating with the parents more than I did. I would also work on focusing my work schedule around the team because I know that it is such a large priority.
