    • 2. What is this?<br />DefConGroups are a gathering point for folks interested in the alternate applications of modern technology (Hacking).<br />Started by IftachAmit and ItzikKotler<br />This is our 5th meeting<br />Free<br />Open<br />Educational<br />Social<br />
    • 3. Goals<br />Have a more permanent meeting place<br />HACKERSPACE<br />Grow the community!!!<br />We all started as n00bs! (and we are ALL still n00bs in so many areas!)<br />Provide proper education on the basics of hacking (SW/HW)<br />Provide an opportunity for people to get their projects running<br />
    • 4. Community Project No. 1<br />An Israeli CERT!<br />Yes, a real one (sorry, Tehila does not count, nor ILAN)<br />Some backing from ISOC-IL<br />Long story, bottom line we are doing it ourselves<br />Call for volunteers!!!<br />Will get you experience and exposure in the infosec community<br />1-2 hours per week, highly flexibly schedule (login from home/work, process the reports queue, coordinate and notify).<br />
    • 5. Community Project No. 2<br />Capture The Flag <br />Creating a challenging scenario that involves real-world tactics<br />Infrastructure, networking, OS, app level, mobile…<br />Start small (breakout sessions in our meetings)<br />Potential to run the CTF at the coming conference!<br />
    • 6. Community Project No. 3<br />Hack-a-thon<br />June 23rd<br />Kickstart your hacking project<br />Pitch in and join other projects<br />BREAK STUFF!!!<br />
