        • Give access to selected Internet resources pertaining to a particular development-related subject.
        • Offer various types of Internet resources:
          • articles, periodicals, newsletters, online communities, databases, events, news items.
        • Offer a link to each Internet resource, in addition to a description of the resource, the metadata.
        • Do NOT involve storage of resources on KIT servers!

        • KIT Portals are part of the service layer. Developing a repository will give us a role in the data layer.

        • There is a need for a repository for Dutch development organizations. KIT is well-placed to take the initiative.
    16. DPRN repository
        • The Development Policy Review Network ( DPRN ) aims to bring development-related research, policy and practice together.
        • DPRN is developing a web portal, Global-Connections , offering information on Dutch experts, organizations and publications from the field of development.
        • Connecting-Africa will be integrated with Global-Connections.
        • For Global-Connections academic and other repositories will be harvested to select relevant publications.

      • April-May: Defining document types and metadata, based on existing documents in UvA repository. Developing list of keywords (thematic, geographic)
      • May-July: Contacting pilot organizations, selecting publications
      • June: Developing license to deposit based on SURF license
      • June: Setting up the repository, testing
      • July-Nov: Adding content (>400 publications)
      • Oct-Nov: Developing web interface
      • December: Launch Search4Dev website

      • Increasing the number of participating organizations

      • Collecting usage statistics
      • After 1 year evaluation of the project.
