  • 1.
  • 2. This tutorial will teach you how to replace the iPhone 3GS charging port, speaker and microphone assembly. For this repair you will need a screwdriver, plastic spudger tool and a suction cup. www.iRepairSolutions.net
  • 3. Step 1. Remove the two screws located on the bottom of the iPhone by the charging port. www.iRepairSolutions.net
  • 4. Step 2. Use the suction cup to gently pry the iPhone screen away from the housing. Make sure not to rip the screen out as this could damage the flex cable connections inside. www.iRepairSolutions.net
  • 5. Step 3. While the screen is pried, remove the number 1 and 2 connectors from the motherboard. Use the plastic spudger tool to gently lift the tab holding the number 3 connector in place and slide the flex cable out. Once the screen is removed, simply put it to the side since you will not need it for the rest of the repair. www.iRepairSolutions.net
  • 6. Step 4. Remove the SIM card tray from the motherboard. www.iRepairSolutions.net
  • 7. Step 5. Remove the six visible screws holding the motherboard in place. Remember the location of the screws and the order they were removed. Remove the screw holding the camera in place. Also, remove a screw located under the “do not remove” sticker which is hidden underneath the antenna flex cable. www.iRepairSolutions.net
  • 8. Step 6. Slowly lift the motherboard with the spudger tool out of the iPhone housing. Be careful not to damage the metal clip located on the lower right corner of the motherboard. www.iRepairSolutions.net
  • 9. Step 7. There are three screws holding the charging port assembly in place. One is underneath the flex cable and two are located on the bottom portion. Remove the charging port assembly and replace it. www.iRepairSolutions.net
  • 10. Follow these steps in reverse order to re-assemble your iPhone. www.iRepairSolutions.net
