Performance Writing

Ways to start writing:
Setting and character(s) (example – Novel in 3 Days contest)
Thematic (KFC / Disney World)
Image-based (sometimes a image resonates and needs exploration)
A Voice (sometimes I just hear a voice speaking and start to explore that voice)
The important point is to just write. Thinking too much causes blocks. There will be discovery in the writing if you allow yourself to go with it. Write. Write. Write.
Remember- extraordinary people in extraordinary circumstances
Remember – what makes a good story are those things that most people don't want to talk about
Remember elements of drama:
Characters and setting
Conflict
Dialogue
Plot – exposition, inciting event, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution
