  12. 12. Home Page When you log in, you will see the homepage for the DMARS website. You may access standard and ad-hoc reports, enter data, view the Cadet Achievement site, and access resources.

DMARS Data Entry <ul><li>Steps to enter data in Core Components: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click Data Entry on the Home Screen. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Ensure you are in the correct class in the Class field on the top left corner. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on Cadets for the field entitled Focus. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on Core Components . </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Choose the Core Component you are entering information in. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Enter needed information and review the DMARS Manual for specific data entry needs. </li></ul></ul>

DMARS DATA ENTRY <ul><li>Two types of fields for data entry: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Required and Non-required. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>  </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Required data fields are those data variables that MUST be entered. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>All required data fields are marked with a red “ ! ”. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Information needs to be entered in these fields. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Fields that are required by the system because the system (DMARS) will not allow you proceed without entering the data are marked with a red * . </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Non-required data fields are fields that have been added to the system based on individual program requests. </li></ul>

Data Entry Requirements <ul><li>Number 9 of Attachment A to Appendix 1 in the Master Youth Program Cooperative Agreement states: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Data must be collected at each Challe NG e site throughout all phases of each class on a consistent and regular basis. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Residential Phases: </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Data updated weekly by close of business (COB) each Monday for the previous weeks’ activities. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Post-Residential Phase: </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Data updated monthly by COB on the 15 th of each month. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>NGB-ZC-AY will publish weekly reports to reflect most recent data submitted. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Records for each cadet maintained for at least 3 years. </li></ul></ul></ul>
  17. 17. Checking Your Work <ul><li>Once information is entered in DMARS, it needs to be check/validated. This step is very important . </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click Standard Reports on the Home Screen. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Scroll down until you see Core Components . </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on the individual report you would like to view based on the information just entered or click on Core Components Summary Report (New). </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>On the box that appears, click on v Report Options then ensure the following information is entered correctly in the drop down boxes: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Year </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Class </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Status: Active </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click Request Report . </li></ul></ul>
