  • 1. Presentation onSubmitted to :- Represented By :- Mrs. Kavita Upadhyay Manish Patel Arpit Jain Akash Rajpal
  • 2. CONTENT: Introduction History Inside The Black Box Flight Data Recorder Cockpit Voice Recorders● Technology used for Recording and Storage● Built To Survive● Testing a CSMU● Retrieving Information● Conclusion
  • 3. INTRODUCTIONThe Black Box is a flight recorder used to record specific aircraft performance parameters.
  • 4. HISTORYThe first prototype FDR was produced in 1956 by Dr. David Warren of the then Aeronautical Research Laboratories of Melbourne, Australia
  • 5. INSIDE THE BLACK BOX : Flight Data Recorder (FDR) Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR)
  • 6. Flight Data Recorders The Flight data recorder (FDR) isdesigned to record the operating data from the planes systems.
  • 7. Parameters Recorded By Most FDRs: Time Pressure altitude Airspeed Vertical acceleration Magnetic heading Control-column position Rudder-pedal position Control-wheel position Horizontal stabilizer Fuel flow
  • 8. Cockpit Voice Recorders: CVR is designed to track the conversations of the flight crew.
  • 9. The Positions Of The Four Microphones:  Pilots headset  Co-pilots headset  Headset of a third crew member (if there is a third crew member)  Near the center of the cockpit, where it can pick up audio alerts and other sounds
  • 10. Technology used for Recording and Storage: Magnetic Tape Solid-State Technology
  • 11. Built To Survive: In many airlineaccidents, the only devices that survive are theCrash-survivable memory units (CSMUs) of the flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorders.Typically, the rest of the recorders chassis and inner components are mangled.
  • 12. Testing a CSMU There are several tests that make up the crash- survival sequence: Crash impact Pin drop Static crush Fire test Deep-sea submersion Salt-water submersion Fluid immersion
  • 13. Retrieving Information:
  • 14. CONCLUSION: From the study of Black Box we derived a information that how the information about aircraft mishap is analyzed & unanswered question is answered. In this study we discuss about various technology various aspects involved in black box.
