  4. 4. <ul><li>John 10:10 </li></ul><ul><li>“ The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. </li></ul><ul><li>MATURITY is the key to realize the abundant life that Jesus promises </li></ul>

Acts 2:37-47 (NASB95) <ul><li>37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” </li></ul><ul><li>38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. </li></ul><ul><li>39 “For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” </li></ul><ul><li>40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” </li></ul><ul><li>41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. </li></ul>

Acts 2:37-47 (NASB95) <ul><li>42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. </li></ul><ul><li>43 Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. </li></ul><ul><li>44 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; </li></ul><ul><li>45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. </li></ul><ul><li>46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, </li></ul><ul><li>47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved. </li></ul>

An Inductive Bible Study <ul><li>WHO did the first believers associate with? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The apostles and other believers </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>LIFE TOGETHER! </li></ul></ul><ul><li>WHERE ? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>At the temple, and house to house </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>CELL GROUPS! </li></ul></ul><ul><li>WHEN ? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>EVERYDAY </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>“ Sunday alone isn’t enough!” </li></ul></ul>

An Inductive Bible Study <ul><li>WHAT did they do together? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Devoting to GOD’S WORD (the Apostles’ teaching) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Psalm 19:7-8 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul ; </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple . </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart ; </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes . </li></ul></ul>

An Inductive Bible Study <ul><li>WHAT did they do together? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Devoting to GOD’S WORD (the Apostles’ teaching) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Devoting to FELLOWSHIP </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Devoting to WORSHIP (breaking bread & prayer) </li></ul></ul><ul><li>HOW did they do these? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>With DEVOTION ! </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Resulting in NUMERICAL GROWTH! </li></ul></ul><ul><li>WHY? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The Spirit of God + the Devotion of Man </li></ul></ul>
  12. 12. <ul><li>Acts 1:8 </li></ul><ul><li>but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” </li></ul><ul><li>When we dedicate, the Spirit propagates! </li></ul>
  13. 13. <ul><li>When we dedicate, the Spirit propagates! </li></ul><ul><li>Acts 1:14 </li></ul><ul><li>These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. </li></ul><ul><li>Acts 2:4 </li></ul><ul><li>And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance. </li></ul>

  15. 15. <ul><li>When we dedicate, the Spirit propagates! </li></ul><ul><li>Acts 6:4 </li></ul><ul><li>“ But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” </li></ul><ul><li>Acts 6:7 </li></ul><ul><li>The word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith. </li></ul>
  16. 16. <ul><li>When we dedicate, the Spirit propagates! </li></ul><ul><li>Acts 18:5 </li></ul><ul><li>… Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ. </li></ul><ul><li>Acts 18:9-10 </li></ul><ul><li>And the Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; for I am with you, and no man will attack you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city .” </li></ul>

Attaining Maturity <ul><li>DEDICATE to these things: </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>GOD’S WORD </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>WORSHIP </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>FELLOWSHIP </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>The Spirit will PROPAGATE! </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>NUMERICAL GROWTH! </li></ul></ul></ul></ul>
