Company Logo History & Pizza Hut in Pakistan  Pizza Hut, was initiated in the year 1958 by brothers Dan and Frank Carney in their hometown of Wichita, Kansas.  Pizza Hut is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc.  There are more than 6,000 Pizza Hut restaurants in the United States  5,600+ store located in 94 other countries across the world  Pizza Hut initiated its operations in Pakistan with its first restaurant way back in 1993.  All franchises of pizza hut in Pakistan are owned by Habib oil Mills Pvt Limited.  There are about 70 outlets in Pakistan and 20 more are in process. 7

There are a number of different Pizza Hut concepts: Full Service Restaurants: These are the traditional pizza restaurants offering as eat service and takeaway. Home Service Restaurants: These restaurants offer home delivery and takeaway. Restaurant Based Delivery: These restaurants are full service restaurants combined with a delivery and takeaway service. 8

So that can be used for the next day operations The preparation is done on the basis of the next business day forecast. If the forecasted goods will not ready for next day, it will difficult for the manager to carry out business operations. Make table The job of the make table is to make orders that are received from customers . Order work on FIFO system, unless there is any collection customer. It takes 10-15 minutes to prepare a product. 9

Dispatching The dispatching is tricky when there are more orders on the shelves and less drivers. Usually it takes less than 30 minute to deliver the order to the customer on his/her door 10

Company Logo Product Standards  Restaurant General Manager (RGM) of pizza hut, revealed the fact that it is always our priority to maintain 100% quality.  All dough should be identified with an accurate timing system, as it is very critical to good dough management.  The wastage control is very important to save overall cost of doing business.  It is important to follow the set rules for product shelf life. Different ingredients used in pizza making process, carry different shelf life.  To keep products safe storage the temperature of freezers should be in between -18 to + or – 5 degree centigrade. 12

Company Logo Forecasting Pizza hut forecasts by relying on previous 4 days trends of sale. HR manager observes the forecast of sales and expected upcoming events in the calendar. The number of drivers can increase on weekends, as high as 7 to 10 and 4 to 5 in store staff plus shift manager and support manager. The unexpected orders can cause more demand, that causes sometimes delay in delivery. RGM told us demand for the food is high in the start of the month but that usually slowdown in the end of the month. 13

Company Logo Conclusion  The operations management depicts the performance of each and individual unit that is participating in overall acceleration of the engine of business.  The operations at Pizza hut have multifaceted situations.  The business may have sometimes low speed and high speed.  The each component working in the process cycle of business plays equally important role to win the customer.  The success of the business is possible through collections of inputs from all the units participating in the conversion process. 17
