Throughout Unit 8 we have discussed the role of Humanitarian Relief Organizations such as the ICRC and UNICEF. Humanitarian Relief Organizations provide material or logistical assistance in response to humanitarian crises including natural disasters and man-made disasters. The primary objective of humanitarian aid is to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity. Thus, the fluency students were asked to research more on the topic and bring other humanitarian relief organizations that caught their attention or that were new to all of us. This is what they did…and here is just a sample of the rich input they gave us during their presentations.
