Transferring and Playing Music on Freestyle Audio DMP using iTunes
To set up your player, download latest version of iTunes onto your computer at www.itunes.com and
follow the directions to install. Once installed, you can easily convert and transfer songs to your Freestyle
Audio DMP from your iTunes library.
Four steps on how to change iTunes AAC default music settings into mp3 format
1. Locate Edit tab on top menu bar and choose Preferences tab
2. In the Preferences menu, choose Advanced tab
3. In the Advanced menu, choose import tab and locate import using drop down menu
4. In the import using drop down menu, choose mp3 encoder
Note: By choosing mp3 encoder, you have now changed your default settings to burn and rip all music
from CD’s into mp3 format. Music from your library can now be converted to mp3 format
Check to see what format your music is currently in: mp3, AAC or WMA
1. Highlight a song in your music library
2. Right click the song and choose Get info
3. Locate format on the right and see if it reads MPEG1, layer 3. If it reads AAC or WMA , the
track(s) must be converted into mp3 in order for it to play on SoundWave
Convert your AAC and WMA music files to mp3 format
1. Choose songs from your library that you want converted to mp3 by highlighting them (For multiple
songs, hold the CTRL button on your keyboard and select songs using your mouse)
2. Locate the Advanced tab on the top menu bar of iTunes
3. In the Advanced drop down menu, choose Convert Selection(s) to mp3
4. iTunes will now begin creating a copy of the songs you selected in mp3 format
Note:
You can delete the original version of the songs you just converted if you choose. The new mp3 formatted
songs can now be dragged and dropped into your Freestyle Audio DMP. You should consider creating a
new folder for your newly converted songs.

Transfer converted songs onto your Freestyle Audio DMP
1. Open both iTunes and your SoundWave (Double click on My Computer and locate the drive that
reads “Removable storage device.”
2. Now that you have both iTunes and the Freestyle Audio DMP window open, minimize each window
so that you have equal boxes side by side
3. Choose songs from you iTunes music library that you want to transfer, remembering to hold the
CTRL button down on your keyboard for multiple tracks
4. Using your mouse, simply drag and drop the music selected into the window of your Freestyle
Audio DMP
5. The status light will flash red on your Freestyle Audio DMP as songs are being downloaded
6. Unplug the USB cable. Plug in your waterproof earphones and enjoy.
Transferring and Playing Music on your Freestyle Audio DMP using
RealPlayer
To set up your Freestyle Audio DMP, download latest version of RealPlayer onto your computer at
www.real.com and follow the directions to install. Once installed, you can easily convert and transfer
songs to your Freestyle Audio DMP from your RealPlayer library.
Convert Media Format
Convert Media, a Premium Feature, allows you to change the format and quality level of the media files
associated with your media clips. You can convert audio media from any supported format (except secure
formats) into MP3, RealAudio, and Wave formats.
How to Convert Music Files into mp3 format
1. Select View > My Library from the Player menus.
2. Select the song(s) you wish to convert.
3. From the Tools menu, select Convert Media Format ... (The \"Convert Media info\" dialog appears
when you first use this feature. Click Continue to open the \"Convert Media Format\" dialog.)
4. Under New Clip, change the Clip Name, Format and/or Quality level as desired. (When multiple
clips are selected, Clip Name cannot be changed.)
5. Choose Additional Options (such as Clip Info, Erase the current clip, or Create a new playlist) if
desired.
6. Click OK to convert your song(s).
Transfer converted songs onto your Freestyle Audio DMP
RealPlayer can transfer media files to a variety of portable music players and storage devices. Songs that
you organize with My Library are transferred as digital music files in a variety of media formats (including
MP3, AAC, WMA, and RealAudio) and qualities (bitrates).
1. Attach SoundWave to your computer, start RealPlayer, reopen the Burn/Transfer page, select the
matching device from the Current Burner/Device dropdown list in the Burn/Transfer page.
2. Drag songs you want to transfer from the My Library list window into the Freestyle Audio DMP view
window on the right
3. The status light will flash red on your Freestyle Audio DMP as songs are being transferred
4. Unplug the USB cable. Plug in your waterproof earphones and enjoy.

Transferring and Playing Music on your Freestyle Audio DMP using
Windows Media Player
To set up your Freestyle Audio DMP, download latest version of Windows Media Player onto your computer
at www.microsoft.com and follow the directions to install. Also, you’ll need to download an mp3 encoder at
www.cyberlink.com Once installed, you can easily convert and transfer songs to SoundWave from your
Windows Media Player library.
Open Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition
1. Click Start button in Windows XP, choose Programs and locate Microsoft Plus! Digital Media
Edition
2. Choose Plus! Audio Converter
Adding the files you want to convert
If you clicked convert specific audio files on the welcome page, you can browse the folders on your
computer and select the MP3, WAV, or Windows Media Audio (WMA) files you want to convert.
1. Click Add File.
2. In the Open dialog box, click the file you want to add to the list, and then click Open.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have selected all of the files you want to convert.
4. If there is a file in the Selected audio files box that you do not want to convert, click it, and then
click Remove File.
5. When your list is completed, click Next.
6. Locate File Format and click on drop down menu and choose Cyberlink mp3
Notes
To select consecutive files, click the first item, press and hold down SHIFT, and then click the last

item. To select nonconsecutive files, press and hold down CTRL, and then click each item.
You can use your mouse to drag audio files from a folder to the Selected audio files list.

· You can also remove a file you do not want to convert from the list by rightclicking the file, and then clicking Remove file.
Converting your audio files
Audio Converter displays the list of audio files you selected, and you can start the conversion process.
To start converting files
1. Review the list to make sure it is correct.
If it is not correct, click Back twice, and then add or remove files from the Selected audio files
list, as necessary

2. Click Start Conversion.
Audio Converter displays the status of each file conversion in the Status column of the
Conversion progress box. The status of a file will be one of the following.
Status Description
Pending Audio Converter has not yet attempted to convert the file.
Leveling % If you selected Use volume leveling, Audio Converter is currently
analyzing the volume data and converting the files to the
normalized volume level. The number before the % symbol
indicates the percentage of this task that Audio Converter has
completed.
Completed % Audio Converter is currently converting the file. The number
before the % symbol indicates the percentage of the file that
Audio Converter has converted.
Completed Audio Converter has successfully converted the file.
Completed with warnings Audio Converter successfully converted the file, but there were
exceptions during the conversion process. For example, if the
source file has multiple audio streams that are not language
specific, Audio Converter uses the stream with the best quality in
the converted file.
Failed Audio Converter cannot convert the file.
Skipped Audio Converter skipped the file and did not convert it. This status
occurs if you selected Skip it as the conversion option if the file
already exists in the destination folder.
To cancel any remaining conversions before they are complete, click Stop Conversion. If you stop
the conversion process, files that have already been converted will remain on your computer, and
files that have not been converted yet will remain as they were.
When the conversion process is completed, Audio Converter displays a conversion completed
message.
3. Click OK.
4. To view information about the converted files, click Details. After you read the details, click Close.
For more information about the Conversion Details page, see Reviewing conversion details.
5. If you want to run the conversion process again on the same list of files, click Start Conversion.
You might want to do this if some files were not converted, and you have fixed the problems that
caused the conversion to fail.

If you want to convert another set of files, click Back to return to the previous page. You can click
Back until you reach the Audio Converter welcome page.
6. When you are finished using Audio Converter, click Exit.

7. Transfer converted songs onto your Freestyle Audio DMP
1. Start Windows Media Player and then connect your device to your computer.
2. In the Library feature, in the Playlist pane, click <List Name> List, and then click Sync List.
3. Drag items from the Contents or Details panes in your library to the List pane to add them to
the list of items to be synchronized.
4. In the Items on Device pane, select the portable device, and then do any of the following:
To view qualitylevel settings, click the Display properties and settings button .

To create a folder on the device, click the Create folder button .

5. Click the Start Sync button
6. The status light will flash red on your SoundWave as songs are being transferred
7. Unplug the USB cable. Plug in your waterproof earphones and enjoy.
How to use Freestyle Audio playlist software
1. Install software on your computer
2. Once installed, open software
3. Plug in SoundWave using the USB cable
4. Playlist software will have two windows
5. On the left side, click on the + box next to My Computer and locate SoundWave
6. Double click SoundWave and music will appear on right side of window
7. You can change the order of the songs by simply dragging and dropping within same window
8. Once you have the order of songs you want, click on the Apply tab on the top menu bar
9. Songs are in new order. Unplug unit from USB cable. Plug in waterproof headphones. Enjoy
