I am glad you liked the presentation most. You raise an important issue: which presentation readers prefer for a writer and why?

  • hudali15 Ali Anani , General Manager at Phenomena Communications Hello George,
Some comments are so good that paralyze me! Your comment, George, has just done that to me.
My style of writing is that I ferment the idea in my head. When I start writing I keep with the flow and only stop writing when I have finished the presentation. Then, I leave it aside for some time, go back revise it and repeat this process one more time. Afterwards, I publish. Why A mi saying this? Because your educating comment and deep understanding of both what I wrote and what I intended to write force me to review my style of writing. Yes, you are right as I meant the food digestive system a metaphor for Information digestive system. What information to take? In what proportion to intake them? When? How to assimilate (digest) the information are questions that I tried to answer without mentioning them directly the way you started your comment.
George, it is comments of your comment standard that make authors improve. I thank you so much for it.

  • xiby George Sciberras Wouldn't it be nice if all followers commented on member's show. It shows a sign of friendship and appreciation. , PENSIONER at My own sweet home The framework of this show re information assimilation addresses the issues – “when”, “what” and “how” to assimilate the information obtained from different media sources. Ali in using Comparisons To Express Ideas and Solve Problems you have done a good job. This is nothing short of Metaphor Thinking where you aptly showed a direct comparison between two unrelated or indirectly linked things. Like food, the volume of information available to us these days is overwhelming. Being able to assimilate it, remember it and use it effectively is a growing challenge for all of us. So in comes the need for vitamins to help one fight the insufficient knowledge of the tools and techniques available to combat information overload. As you said this could be critical. Proteins are an alternative to a healthy mind, we all forget things, it's a natural process every day. With our busy lives, pressurised jobs and daily distractions we cannot remember everything. 1 year ago Reply

  • hudali15 Ali Anani , General Manager at Phenomena Communications Marco, many thanks for your motivating comment
Bas, you really grabbed the essence of the presentation. Fast information flow resembles fast food intake: both have harmful effects. It is important to digest dozes of information and digest them slowly. I do appreciate your supportive comment

  • projectshrink Bas de Baar , Project Shrink at The Web Fantastic metaphor, Ali! Congratulations. This is a topic dear to my heart. You have it all in there: capacity of information, the context and emotions attached... I think the most important part is the slow digestion: making the information your own. reflecting on what is yours and what is for others. Awesome. 1 year ago Reply

  • hudali15 Ali Anani , General Manager at Phenomena Communications Hello Charles,

Wow! Great insight. It is amazing how things relate. Using different sensible approaches lead to the same conclusion.

Charles, May I suggest for you to correlate the four balanced strategies of getting information with the strategy of flying eagles. As the eagles fly higher, their information needs change with the change of their altitudes and new challenges. They requiers eagles to adapt quickly. This analogy might give new insights into the management of change.

Great comments come from great thinkers. You are, Charles.

  • CharlesPrabakar Willis Consulting LLC at Willis Consulting LLC Hello Ali, Great insights! Out of all the inferences/conclusions you have outlined– if at all there is one thing that stands out more than the others is – “the need for balanced food”. Let us face it – the roots cause of most problems in this world – whether personal, social or business strategy - are because of the fact -that most of our actions are not being done in a balanced manner.
Like food - Information (or truth or strategy) is like a bird that must balance its wings to fly. Speaking of this balanced food analogy – I am reminded of the four types of foods that are needed in balanced proportion for our body to function properly.

    • CARBOHYDRATES for ENERGY
    • PROTEINS for GROWTH
    • FATS for WARMTH
    • VITAMINS/MINERALS to PREVENT DISEASES.

Interestingly enough- they align one to one perfectly with the four types of strategies that are needed for a corporations to function efficiently as I had outlined in the 10 box strategy model in one of my earlier blogs. (http://strategywithapurpose.blogspot.com/2010/07/where-eagles-dare-strategies-dare.html)

    • Differentiation strategies are the growth strategies leveraging company’s strengths –, or the Protein strategies as they are the ones that help our body to grow in a differentiated manner.

    • Exploitation strategies are the growth strategies to exploit competitor’s weaknesses – or the Carbohydrates strategies as they help us to renew our body’s energy to exploit our body’s weaknessesses.

    • Prevention strategies are the defensive/preventive strategies to overcome company’s weaknesses – or the Vitamins /minerals strategies as they are the ones that help our body to prevent diseases or help us to prevent germs attack.

    • Mitigation strategies are the mitigation strategies to reduce company’s vulnerability from competitor’s threats- or the Fatty strategies as they are the ones that give our body the warmth to mitigate the external cold.

On the whole, very inspiring work Ali! I must say that you have the unique ability to bring out the inherent insights that are buried deep inside various scientific phenomena (such as this food digestion process) and this work is yet another testament for that ability.

    Great job!

    Regards,
    Charles
