  8. 8. What does Jesus reveal about God’s adversary? • Satan is the prince of an evil kingdom on earth “How can Satan drive out Satan? A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.”
  9. 9. What does Jesus reveal about God’s adversary? • Satan is the leader of ranks of demons “How can Satan drive out Satan? A house divided against itself cannot stand.”
  10. 10. What does Jesus reveal about God’s adversary? • Satan’s end had not come yet “How can Satan drive out Satan? If Satan opposes himself he cannot stand, his end has come.”
  11. 11. What does Jesus reveal about God’s adversary? • Satan is strong, but He is no match for Jesus “No one can enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can rob his house.”
  12. 12. Who is Jesus? • The “Mighty One” foretold by Isaiah “Yes! Captives will be taken from warriors and plunder retrieved from the fierce. I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save. Then you will know that I . . . am the Mighty One of Jacob.”
  13. 13. Who is Jesus? • The “Mighty One” announced by John the Baptist • The unique Son of God who came down from heaven to confront God’s adversary • The One who is stronger than the strong man • The One who plunders Satan’s house
  14. 14. Who is Jesus? 3. Jesus is the Head of God’s family—those who carry on the work of God on earth “He called the twelve and appointed them to be with Him . . . and to have authority to drive out demons.”
  15. 15. Who is Jesus? 3. Jesus is the Head of God’s family—those who carry on the work of God on earth “Who is my mother and brother? Whoever does God’s will, that is my family”
  16. 16. Who is Jesus? 3. Jesus is the Head of God’s family—those who carry on the work of God on earth “And these signs shall accompany those who believe—in My Name they will cast out demons . . . they will lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.”
