  • 2. He was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford- Upon-Avon
  • 3. His parents were John and Mary Arden Shakespeare. His father was a maker, worker and seller of leather products. They were middle-class citizens. He had 7 siblings.
  • 4. He went to Grammar School from 7 to 13 years old.
  • 5. In 1582, when he was18, he married AnneHathaway who was26 years old.
  • 6. Anne Hathaway’sfather was a yeomanfarmer, a free man whohad his own farm.
  • 7. They had 3 children, 2 daughters and a son.

  • 13. Between 1585 and 1592, Shakespeare left Stratford for London to start his career in the theatre.
  • 14. 1593: Shakespeare started writing The Sonnets.1594: He founded the LordChamberlain’s Men actingcompany. 1595: Shakespeare wrote both Romeo & Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream
  • 15. 1598-1599 : The Globe Theatre was built.Shakespeare was a part-owner of the new theatre.
  • 16. 1613: The Globe Theatre burnt to theground. It was later rebuilt and opened in1614.
  • 17. April 23, 1616 Shakespeare diedafter a few days of high fever atthe age of 52. He was buried inStratford-upon-Avon, England.
