  • 4. College Struggles <ul><li>Admired in math by teachers and peers </li></ul><ul><li>Often smarter and more clever than his teachers </li></ul><ul><li>No discipline for studying in his other classes </li></ul>
  • 5. After his college attempts… <ul><li>Married Srimathi Janaki </li></ul><ul><li>For awhile, they were supported by a wealthy man named Ramanchandra Rao </li></ul><ul><li>Srinivasa sent some of his work to two famous English mathematicans </li></ul>
  • 6. Godfrey Hardy: Cambridge University <ul><li>Saw Srinivasa’s work and was impressed by how he did the problems </li></ul><ul><li>Offered him a scholarship at Trinity College </li></ul><ul><li>At first he had to refuse but later accepted the offer </li></ul>
  • 7. Hard Life in England <ul><li>Vegetarian meals were not prepared he enjoyed them </li></ul><ul><li>Got too busy and often forgot to eat </li></ul><ul><li>The cold, damp climate </li></ul><ul><li>Srinivasa fell ill and no one could find a cure </li></ul><ul><li>He decided to return to India </li></ul>
