Computerized business systems create increasing volumes of digital information every day, and managing that information for compliance, litigation support, and business intelligence can be a daunting task, especially for large enterprises like HP. In this session, we’ll share valuable lessons learned from HP’s own electronic records management journey. The speakers will address how HP’s Global Records Management team and KPMG’s team (acting as HP’s program manager) are enabling a comprehensive records program. You’ll hear about the HP’s initiative to update current, paper-based records management to a new system, based on HP TRIM, which addresses all paper and electronic records. This includes the conversion of records data previously housed in a homegrown system to the TRIM database and classification system. You will leave with new strategies to address your own challenges, including data conversion, training, business process analysis, and departmental vs. enterprise implementation of TRIM.
