  • 4. Appearance<br />A platypus is a mammal<br />It has a grey tail from the beaver family<br />The platypus has webbed feet which come from the otter family<br />Their bill comes from the duck family and is gray<br />The platypus weighs about 4 lbs and the female weighs about 2 lbs <br />
  • 5. Appetite<br /><ul><li>The platypus eats insects in and out of the water
  • 6. The platypus can suck up bones
  • 7. They also eat frogs
  • 8. When a platypus eats it eats the insect by snatching it with its tongue
  • 9. Then it rolls the bug up in its tongue and swallows it</li></li></ul><li>Habitat<br />One area platypus live in is Eastern Australia. <br />They are always near water.<br />They live in the ground near river banks.<br />Their area is filled with rocks, seaweed, twigs, and grass.<br />
  • 10. Interesting Facts<br />The platypus has a stinger that poisons others.<br />They have a tail that can feel electricity.<br />The nose of the platypus is called the “bill”.<br />They are grayish in color and I always thought they were an aqua (blue) color.<br />
