International seminar and discussion forum, jointly organized by Atma Jaya University (Indonesia), Zhejiang University (China) and the Human Capital Leadership Institute (Singapore), will be held in the backdrop of the launch of the Asean -China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) last year. AFTA highlights a new era of pan-Asian collaboration, creating the third largest free-trade area in the world and the largest one by population.
With dramatic economic growth, as well as increased international trade and cross border investments in the region, local and multinational companies find that the need to address and manage the diversity of race, ethnicity, religion and language within organisations (owners, employees, investors) and outside of them (suppliers, competitors, and customers) to be more compelling than ever before.
This conference aims at facilitating systematic approaches to prepare Asian leaders and to develop their global competence and leadership skills across borders. This is crucial since Asia shares a global reality with the rest of the world and the rapid economic growth in Asia, must be supported by strong leadership and talent development in order to ensure sustainable growth. Through a highly qualified team of speakers, panellists and moderators, participants will also get to learn from and contribute to discussions on the complexities faced by both local and expatriate staff in diverse leadership styles and managing multicultural teams in Asia.
