HOOTSUITE’S HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAM Hootsuite’s Higher Education Program  Social Media Education - Information Sheet  Are you a professor or instructor at a higher education institution teaching social media in an upcoming semester? Hootsuite’s Higher Education Program provides educators with everything they need to teach social media in the classroom. Whether new or an expert at teaching social media, educators are able to access free courseware, lectures, webinars, and content to integrate into their class however it fits best. This program has been adopted by higher education institutions from all over the world, including Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University, NYU Stern School of Business, and UCLA. Educators from accredited higher education institutions are able to enroll their class(es) of students. Most often, professors and educators that are interested in the program are those teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in business, social media, marketing, journalism, public relations, and communications. By participating in Hootsuite’s Higher Education Program, educators receive: ✔✔ Free 90-day access to Hootsuite Pro for their students to turn their social media knowledge and theory into practice, ✔✔ Free 90-day access to Hootsuite University for their students to provide them access to courseware, resources, and video-based lessons on social media and Hootsuite, and ✔✔ The opportunity for their students to become Hootsuite Certified Professionals, earning industry-recognized credentials demonstrating their expertise with the Hootsuite dashboard.
  • 2. HOOTSUITE’S HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAM How do I integrate Hootsuite’s Higher Education Program into my classroom? Through the program, educators (and students) are provided access to a large bank of courseware and resources about social media. Professors and instructors can choose to integrate this content into their curriculums however they wish. For example, some educators require students to complete all the courseware and exams; others pick and choose specific modules students are to complete. To give you a better idea of the content available, you can view the list of resources available to program participants. There are also curriculum suggestions for professors teaching Marketing, Public Relations & Communications, or Journalism courses. I’m interested in enrolling my class. What are the next steps?
