How to Archive Your Old ANGEL 7.4 Course

  1. 1. How to Archive Your Old ANGEL 7.4 Course As the semester inches towards the end, it is time to think about archiving your 2009-2010 courses. You can save your course archive on your computer or burn it to a CD in case you need to retrieve it in the future. It is much easier and less work intensive for everyone if you keep your own course archives. We suggest that you wait and complete this process once your grades are finalized and all assignments are graded. Follow these steps to complete the archiving process: (1) Log on to ANGEL at https://my.iavalley.edu (2) Click on the COURSE you want to archive for the future. (3) Click the MANAGE tab. (4) Click the EXPORT CONSOLE link under DATA MANAGEMENT heading. (5) Click the ANGEL FORMAT link to export data to an ANGEL archive zip file. (6) You will see the following screen: (7) Select the data you want to export. We suggest that you include all of your data as checked. (8) Click the NEXT button. (9) Your content export is now queued on the server. Only one course content export is being performed at a time, so this may take a while, especially towards the end of the semester. When your course export has been completed, you should receive an email message from the LMS administrator informing you of the backup completion: Updated: May 4, 2010 Questions? 2. 2. (10)Once the backup is completed, under the MANAGE tab, you will see a similar screen: (11)Click the EXPORT CONSOLE link again. (12)Click DOWNLOAD FILE (see image below) and SAVE the zip file on your computer. (Your Export History screen will show the file(s), type(s), and date(s) you exported your files.) (13)We suggest that you burn a CD or DVD of your old courses for future safekeeping. You should be able to burn multiple course files on a single CD or DVD, depending on your course file size(s).
