Stewardship presentation 2011 Stewardship presentation 2011 Presentation Transcript

  • Pentecost(50 days after the Resurrection)“Then those who gladlyreceived his word werebaptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.” Acts 2:41
  • The Church The Church as the body of Christcarries us beyond our personal concerns, stretching our vision to the eternal and the heavenly as we ascend together to worship the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • Our way of Life“Therefore, my beloved brethren, besteadfast, immovable, always abounding in thework of the Lord, knowing that your labor isnot in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians15:58
  • All is given to us by God“As each one has received a gift, minister it toone another, as good stewards of the manifoldgrace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10Everything we have –Time, Talents, Treasures, Health, Property, Material things, Relationships, Faith – All have beengiven to us by God.
  • What is Stewardship? Stewardship is how we use our Time, Talents and Treasures in a partnership with God.
  • What is a Steward?Stewards A Steward is a person who MANAGES the affairs of God on earth. God has made each of us a Steward and has given us ABILITIES that are unique.
  • Life is Stewardship Life is the FIRST and GREATEST gift of all and carries greatresponsibilities with it.We know thatour lives aresacred trusts.
  • Stewardship of TimeWe are the stewards of those lives; God dependson us to use them to accomplish God’s purposes. When God gives us Life, we don’t know howmuch TIME we have to use that life. We mustbudget our hours so that we are able to Give ofour TIME to fulfill God’s plan.
  • Whatever TIME we have is a gift from God, and we must use itwisely in every activity throughout the day.
  • We have been given superior minds and bodies in which to accomplish God’s work. We are to use both inorder to fully discover God’s plan, in understanding self and others. Wepresent our Bodies and we renew our minds as offerings to God.
  • Stewardship of TALENTSGod gives all people TALENTS whenthey are born. Each of us can share inGod’s plan in his or her own way.
  • If we use our TALENTSwisely, we willbe better able to use them and willdevelop others – but if wedon’t, we may lose even thoseTALENTS we do have
  • Our relationships with others are a gift from Godand a measure of our stewardship for God. Ourrelationships at HOME, at WORK, at CHURCH areour ways that we exercise our partnership: toreceive the Gospel, to share the Gospel and toreflect the Gospel.
  • Stewardship of TREASURESDEFINITION: Call of every member to sharewillingly the gifts that God has bestowed onthem – including sharing these gifts for Godswork.
  • We must actively commit to use our TREASURES for the benefit of humankind in grateful acknowledgement of Christ’s Redeeming Love.
  • . Stewardship of TREASURES must become a Way of Life – we must offer one’s self to God as He offered Himself to us
  • Primary Purpose of StewardshipNot to finance the LocalParish –it’s a secondarypurpose at bestTo promote the SpiritualGrowth of the Stewardsin order that all maygrow in Grace anddevelop their Faith.
  • Every member(unit) must offer a Pledge Cardbecause with this process every member(unit) willspecify the TIME, TALENT and TREASURES they will commit and donate to the Parish over the course of the ensuing year.
  • “For everyone to whom much is given, from himmuch will be required; and to whom much hasbeen committed, of him they will ask the more.”Luke 12:48 Proportional Giving is what is askedof every member because all is being given forthe Work of the Church.
  • Our attitude with regards towards Stewardship must be a willing and joyful one. We must understand that we asStewards are Stewards of All God’s mysteries, His love, Eternal Life, God’s Church on earth, our own Theosis (Partakingof the Divine nature) and one another – thereby must love each other.
  • In 1934 our Parish was establishbecause of the VISION of dedicated men and women who wanted toworship our Lord with their families and others.
  • Today, we must carry on their vision by supporting ourParish through the offering of ourselves in service anddevotion to God.
  • Financial giving toour Parish allows for the carrying out of its mission in Christ’s name to every member and beyond.
  • Our whole life is a partnership with God.We must seek no rewards but offer ourStewardship with the knowledge of the joy of serving God.
  • We cannot “give” anything toGod; but we can “fulfill” God byusing our financial supportwisely and sharing with others– the Church.
  • We have entered into a new era within our Parish. We have a new vision for our Parish. Our needs havegrown and now isthe time to meet them 100%.
  • Our total Budget for2012 will be around$775,000. If all 660 Pledging unitsPledge the needed average of $1,174 we will meet ourgoal. The question is: Will all 660 Pledging unitspledge the average of $1,174?
  • Our Parish has expenses, just likeeveryone else. Our Parish must pay for electricity, Building insurance, Building cleaning, healthinsurance, supplies, Salari es, Building maintenance &repairs, telephone, grounds maintenance and much more.
  • Where must the money come from to pay these expenses?ANSWER : From Stewardship
  • Now the time hascome, that everyPledging unit of thisParish mustunderstand thatTHEY and no oneelse must offertheir financialsupport in order tomeet the budgetfor this year andthose in the future.
  • This is ALL of our responsability. If we want thisParish to remain alive and functioning, then we all need to make a commitment to Christ and His Church TODAY!
  • If you have NOT Financiallypledged as of Today, Today is the day you need to do so and we ask that you Pledge the needed average of $1,300, if you are honestly, sincerely and truthfully before the Lord able to do so.
  • If you have Pledged for 2011 and have not financially pledged the needed average of$1,300 and are able to do so, today is the day to increase your Pledge.
  • TODAY is here, do not let it pass you by without praying about, answering the presentedquestions or making your 2011 right within the eyes of the Lord. “…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;” Ephesians 3:17
  • “…to know the love of Christwhich passes knowledge;that you may be filled withall the fullness of God.”Ephesians 3:19
  • The information presented to you here is offered out of love, in faith and for the understanding of knowledge of the facts about our Parish, so that you may make your decision on how you will financially support our Parish this year and forthe many years to come. The decision is yours and yours alone. So what will it Be?
