3. Aims of my magazine
I aim for my magazine to be something that is interesting and cool towards
teenagers/young adults (15-24 ) who are into rock/indie music. Magazines at the
moment tend to focus either around rock music OR indie music, so I want to fill the
gap in the product market that is a split between the 2, or a merge within the genres.
The music the magazine focuses on will be recent and new rather than classic and
well known rock.
It will cover elements of rock music that people will show interest in, such as
interviews with band members, reviews and events.
I want the style of the magazines to be “indie – rock chick” and to appeal to the less
“girly” types of girls, who are more into being individual and grunge. I want it too feel
personal with lots of photographs and quotes.
I plan my double page to feature information about recent gigs and festivals, the
highlights of the events, pictures of the events, and top tips for if readers are planning
or thinking about going to a festival.
