  • 1. Key Characters We are doing a TEEN DRAMA. The key characters will be 3 college students A geek/genius A glam/spoilt girl A Rebel These characters ages will be 17-18.
  • 2. Outline Of Film BEGINNING - similar to breakfast club. Voice over at a college showing shots of around the college and characters. Characters shown at end of opening as all get same mystery text. MIDDLE – From opening film goes into a flashback. All characters have something to hide, middle shows their lives and start of what they did wrong. END – Key characters true self comes out. The text was sent to a lot of college students as an April fools prank. Key characters were not targeted.
  • 3. What are we going to establish in our opening? The setting Time Key Characters - personality What’s going on Key theme – teen drama etc Mood of film
  • 4. What will the audience see and hear? Slow montage – similar to the Breakfast Club showing the scene and giving away aspects of the rest of the film enticing the audience to want to watch more. Continuity sequence – We want to have this after a slow montage to show this film is real life and to make it more realistic and relatable to every day teenagers. Audience will see the setting (college). We will use both diegetic and non diegetic. We will use more non diegetic as we want to audience to have a clear opinion on the film and to know what is going on. We will also not want to confuse the audience.
  • 5. Films that have influenced us Breakfast Club – It influenced our film idea a lot. We were influenced by the narrator (voice over),setting and theme of the film. This film also sends a good message across the young adults that we wanted to portray. Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging – This film shows the British element we want to portray in our film through the school setting and the overall environment. This film also influenced the culture, and characters we want in our film Other films that influenced us are Juno, Submarine, Mean Girls etc. These films influenced us as they all show relationships between characters and give the overall teen drama feel.
  • 6. Target Audience Member This is a 17 year old girl. She likes social networking to keep in contact with friends if she’s not with them which she is most of the time. She likes to texts and watches other teen dramas such as Skins and Misfits. She lives in England and goes to college. This audience member will watch our film because she can relate to the characters and the story line as our film is based on real teenage life.
  • 7. Audience Feedback Would you watch our film? Do you think the characters we have chosen are too stereotypical? If you had to change one thing about our film what would it be?
  • 8. Extension Our production company is called Haval Productions We have not chosen a name for the film as we are awaiting feedback as our film ideas may change slightly.
