  • 1. What is the MBTI®?The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® is a self-assessment tool; it is not atest and does not measure personality traits or skills. The MBTI®tool was developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Briggs andis based on Carl Jung’s theory ofpsychological types. It has beenused for more than 60 years to help people gain insights andbecome more satisfied andsuccessful in their careers. How does it work? The indicator is a tool that was developed to help you understandhow you cognitively process information and how you get yourenergy. You will receive a link to an online assessment. TheMBTI® is considered a forced choiceinstrument - you are asked to choose between alternatives. It starts with some optional demographicquestions then continues with 144 questions and word pairs. There are no right or wrong answers to thequestions on the MBTI®. Each person is a unique individual. Your responses will be individuallyinterpreted in an interactive session and you will be asked to verify your results. How can it help me in my career? The MBTI® Career report links your assessment results to job categories that other working adults whoshare your type preferences find satisfying. The job families and specific occupations used in this reportare adapted from the O*NET™ system ofoccupational classification developed by the U.S. Departmentof Labor, which is the standard methodfor classifying occupations. How much does it cost? Are the results confidential? The cost of the MBTI® Career report is $15.00. I aman MBTI® Certified Practitioner who is willing to offeran interpretive sessionand reportat cost to gain additional experience using this tool. Please be assuredthat I will maintain confidentiality on all results. Since it is a self-report questionnaire, the results belongonly to you, and will be provided only to you.I’m interested! How do I begin? Please contact Janet Hoffman via e-mail at, or phone at 215-858-7011.
