  • In order to effectively market to patrons, libraries need to take a cue from corporations.
Effective marketing is based on a strong understanding of users – who they are, where they are coming from, etc.
By knowing who we are trying to reach, we can be more effective in how we promote your services.
Because of this, in the next few slides, we will show you tools we are working on to help you in this quest.
  • Google Analytics is available on all Gale resources.
It is a tool that helps most companies understand how users are interacting with their sites.
  • The ForeSee survey has been implemented in a number of Gale products.
This will help us as we try to determine who is actually interacting with our products.
It will also inform us as to what areas we need to make improvements.
ForeSee is affiliated with the University of Michigan and is the company that best-in-class companies like Apple and Best Buy use to understand their users.
We can share this information with you at the State or Library level.
  • Gale is also building a tool that will allow libraries better understand current usage information.
