Most users only use 10% of the tool.  Don’t be afraid to right-click and discover new features  If your current task is hard or boring, SQL Developer can probably help  If you only use it for querying and exporting to Excel, that’s all it will ever be  You can disable features you don’t use to simply the UI Before you laugh, think about how much of Excel you actually use

We use SQL Developer to build SQL Developer  Yes, we’re Java gear-heads  But we also come from strong Oracle database backgrounds  SQL Developer IS the de-facto in-house database tool  Walk around one of our R&D shops, you’ll see us   Other Database product teams like Times Ten, Spatial & Graph, Data Miner, etc. build their own SQL Developer extensions to make their products more accessible to the SQL Developer user And large parts of the Database and Cloud offerings too

We’re more than ‘good enough.’  Yes, yes it is  Spend money on the database, not the tools  Everything you need and then some  Small orgs, big orgs, rich companies, non-profits all use SQLDev  We could buy any tool we wanted, instead we built SQLDev – you get to use it too  Is SQL Developer really good enough to use as the ‘go to’ tool?
