  2. 2. Class Times <ul><li>Your classes are Monday to Friday all day commencing Tuesday 28 October until Friday 07 November </li></ul><ul><li>All classes are in either H611 or H517/519. Please check the timetable. </li></ul><ul><li>You can also use the computers at the Open access suite </li></ul><ul><li>You need to have the workbook at all classes as well as a pencil and eraser and extra paper if you want to take notes. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Galileo <ul><li>This is one of the Travel Reservations Systems which can be used in an Agency and has the capabilities of booking the following for your client: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Aircraft </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Hotel </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Car rental </li></ul></ul>
  4. 4. Galileo <ul><li>This is a self directed learning programme. You can work at your own pace and use the outline I have given as a guide. </li></ul><ul><li>You need to have completed the minimum lessons as per the guide or you will not be finished in time for the Exam </li></ul><ul><li>Check your Student Workbook review question answers and check for understanding. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Galileo <ul><li>There are two parts to the program </li></ul><ul><li>The unit/lesson and review questions </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Introduction to Galileo has 21 on-line lessons that you have to complete. </li></ul><ul><li>There are 4 Quiz tests to complete and you must achieve 80% which I am required to verify before you continue. </li></ul>Lessons

Lessons <ul><li>To access the program follow these steps: </li></ul><ul><li>Go to– Novell-delivered Applications, Click on Schools, Business then Viasinc GDS </li></ul><ul><li>Galileo Courses </li></ul><ul><li>Viasinc version </li></ul><ul><li>Package 1 – Introductory courses </li></ul><ul><li>Course 1 – Introduction to Galileo and then into Lessons. </li></ul>
  8. 9. Exercises - Emulator <ul><li>Hands-on practice using emulator for all lessons. </li></ul>The screen will look like this.

Galileo – Student Workbook <ul><li>Review Questions </li></ul><ul><li>These questions cover material taught in the on-line lessons </li></ul><ul><ul><li>entries, responses, displays </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Format Review – this area will help you if you are stuck…your “cheat sheet” section!!! </li></ul></ul>
  10. 11. Exam <ul><li>60 questions </li></ul><ul><li>Self-marking </li></ul><ul><li>2 hours </li></ul><ul><li>Open book and any notes you may make during course of your study. </li></ul>
