  • 1. Global warming
    It’s time for a change.
  • 2. What is global warming?
Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane), trap heat and sunlight in the earth’s atmosphere, increasing the temperature.
  • 3. We should be treating, I think, the whole issue of climate change and global warming with a far greater degree of priority than I think is happening now.
    ~ Prince Charles
  • 4. The temperature rise caused by global warming has affected many species of animals in the arctic.
By the rate of rapid melting in the Arctic, some have estimated that the region could be completely ice free by 2040.
  • 5. Other effects include extreme weather events…
  • 6. What changed in the United States with Hurricane Katrina was a feeling that we have entered a period of consequences.~ Al Gore
  • 7. All across the world, in every kind of environment and region known to man, increasingly dangerous weather patterns and devastating storms are abruptly putting an end to the long-running debate over whether or not climate change is real. Not only is it real, it's here, and its effects are giving rise to a frighteningly new global phenomenon: the man-made natural disaster.
    ~ Barack Obama
  • 8. A report, based on the work of some 2,500 scientists in more than 130 countries, concluded that humans have caused all or most of the current planetary warming.
Human-caused global warming is often called anthropogenic climate change.
  • 9. More than a million species face extinction from disappearing habitat, changing ecosystems, and acidifying oceans.
