    Hello EnVeritas Group,

    Thank you for stopping by.

There are 2 separate questions in your comment:

    - How do you look at a platform like Weibo? China offers a variety of platforms. As with any SM effort, we would recommend that you make sure your target audience is using this platform before jumping. Feedback from current Chinese students at your institution may be helpful in determining if this is the best option for you. See how Brock University decided to be on RenRen http://www.brocku.ca/brock-news/?p=9864

    - Do you think there should be a separate strategy for the social media platforms we don’t traditionally use in the US? Different tools do not always call for different SM strategies. However, given the specific cultural differences, content shared will probably vary from one country to another.

Hope this is helpful. Feel free to contact us with questions anytime: nvisani@higher-education-marketing.com

Thank you again for stopping by!

They will visit your college’s Facebook page but may feel that liking your page is too much of a commitment to your college.  What we can conclude from this data is that an International Student Page on FB may be useful for students already on campus, or to showcase activities that are happening, but it may not attract international prospects. How Can Social Media Enhance International Student Recruitment Slide 6 Social media is great to give immediate help and get into direct contact with the Admission team.  As you devise your social media international campaigns, be sure to consider ways to use social media to make it easy for students to contact you:  Use chat services to make direct contact with prospective students: some colleges use Skype or Google+ hang outs to interview prospects. Make sure a current international student and alumni attend the session to answer all questions.  Use Google Analytics to know what the best keywords to be found are. Use those keywords to optimize your profiles (for example, YouTube account) and blog to make it easy for students to find information and contact people. 2.
