  • 1. SAVE THE DATE!!  JANUARY 27-29, 2014 Beaver, Cioffi , Ricker team and Hicks, Jopling, Yetter, Jones team  JANUARY 29-31, 2014 Erickson, Cronin, Kennedy, and Messer team  Departure time 6:30AM  Arrival time 6:30 PM
  • 2. HOUSING ARRANGEMENTS  The rooms sleep 5-6 campers, contain a full bathroom and air conditioning.  Campers will provide their own bed linens (sleeping bag) and towels.  Bunk mates will be determined in December.  Parent Chaperones will bunk in with the campers.  Campers will be responsible for cleaning their room for inspection by the 4H staff on the morning of departure.
  • 3. STUDENT CLASSES:  Beach Ecology  Marsh Ecology  Maritime Forest Ecology  Orienteering  Dock Studies  Fish Dissection  Bird Watching  Herpatology  Visit to the Jekyll Island Turtle Center and Hospital  Environmental Issues  Snake Study  Campfire  Night Walk  CSI: Shark Study

  • 9. COST BREAKDOWN •Includes 2 nights lodging, 7 meals, 14 programs, and transportation via charter buses. •Day programs-10 @ 1.5 hours each (9 taught by Jekyll staff, 1 taught by visiting school). •Evening classes-4 @ 1 hour each ( 2 taught by Jekyll staff, 2 taught by visiting school).
  • 10. INSURANCE  Each student must have current health insurance.  Insurance can be purchased through the school if needed.  If needed, have your student ask his/her science teacher for the information.  Insurance needs to be purchased by Friday, December 20th.
  • 11. PAYMENT SCHEDULE 1st Payment September 2, 2013 $100.00 2nd Payment October 2, 2013 80.00 3rd Payment November 1, 2013 80.00 All payments will be made through MyPaymentsplus before midnight of the due date.
  • 12. CHAPERONES  Chaperones are 1 to every 10-12 students.  In addition to the 11 teacher chaperones we will have 1-2 administrators and counselors as chaperones.  We will need 5-8 parent chaperones per team depending on the number of children taking the trip from each team. http://tinyurl.com/8ry5nub
