Slide 4: About the Typeface • History Fedra Sans was originally commissioned by Paris- based Ruedi Baur Integral Design. It was developed as a corporate font for a German insurance company, Bayerische Rück, as part of their new visual identity. The objective was to 'de-protestantize Univers', the typeface which the company had been using since Otl Aicher designed their first visual identity in the 1970s. The typeface “humanises the communicated message and adds simple, informal elegance.â€
Slide 5: About the Typeface • Description Fedra Sans is a multilingual contemporary sans serif typeface developed for visual identities, designed to work equally well on paper and on the computer screen. Fedra Sans appears to work exceptionally well in small point sizes, while it is elegant and distinguishable in larger ones. The typeface attempts to reconcile two opposing design approaches: the rigidity of a typeface designed for the computer screen and the flexibility of handwriting.
Slide 6: Fedra Sans Font Family The Fedra Sans font family includes a variety of different weights and styles which are shown below, including: Fedra Sans Light, Normal, Medium, and Bold. Also shown are the normal, bold, italic, bold italic, and small caps varieties.
