    IGLOO
  • The igloo was made from ice and could hold about 5 to 7 people. it was like a dome looking house with a resting area and passage way with a window ,and ventilation hole. The igloo is in Alaska and it has been used for a while the first to use were the Inuit.
The igloo was used for hunting trips.
    Igloo House
  • What they are made of
The outside was made of ice and on the inside they would use animal hides to insulate it.
  • How They Kept Warm and Dry
They kept the inside warm from body heat the outside could be -45 degrees Celsius and the inside could be -19 degrees Celsius from just body heat. They also put animal hides for extra warmth. They kept dry because when they made it they would compact all the ice and snow very well.
  • The Roof and food
The type of roof that they had was made of pure ice because that all they had available.
They would have a little area beside of the igloo where they would have a fire to cook. They sanitation was pretty clean water they would put a hole in the ice and boil water to drink and shower.
  • Windows and doors.
What the would use for window was a block of ice. They would not use a door.
  • Would this work in our time.
This type of house would not work in Caldwell county because it is not cold enough here. The way we could adapt to it is if it were very cold here and were moving constantly.
