Need for professional video work
At MSU within our College of Ag we have a Communication group with 2 FTEs focusing on video
In my previous position at MSU we did a lot of DIY type video including speakers on campus, documenting a group of travelers from Africa focusing on metro ag, and informal interviews. At the time we used flip cams. There wasn’t an option for mics but we just did the best we could.
After working for extension for a short time I realized that many folks want to enhance programming with technology, including video, but may not have a big budget
Examples
Sugar beat team
Those a long distance from campus
HorseQuest team
After doing a little research online I found some videos on YouTube that described using mics with an iPad – something that would really enhance doing this. Then I did a little research on equipment and finally talked to a very resourceful person at B & H photo about what specific brands to purchase.
