Solve problems involving rise, run, and slope of line segments (B-3)
On a sheet of loose leaf paper, write down for
me everything you know about the concepts of
\"rise\", \"run\" and \"slope\", as they relate to line
segments. Write your name on it, and hand it in
when requested.
m = rise/run = (change in y)/(change in x) = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
If m > 0, the line segment is oblique and rises to the right.
If m = 0, the line segment is horizontal.
If m < 0, the line segment is oblique and falls to the right.
If m is undeļ¬ned as a result of a zero denominator, the line
segment is vertical.
