  2. 2. WHAT IS PERSONAL DIGITAL ARCHIVING? • Reframing online presence as archival materials • Advising on best practices for selection and preservation • Assisting with digitizing, metadata, etc.
  3. 3. WHY PERSONAL DIGITAL ARCHIVING? • Encourage preparation of “manuscript” materials for archives • Raise awareness of digital issues • Promote library/archives as a community resource! …Plus it’s my ALI project.

  5. 5. WHEN IS ALL THIS HAPPENING? • Depends on a number of factors: • Smaller local events vs. multi- institution • Informational vs. Instructional focus • Outside experts for speakers? • Level of advertising/advocacy • Simpler will happen sooner! • Aiming for a Sept/Oct UWM
