Most blog owners make the mistake of constantly creating new blog posts but do little or no promotion afterwards then wander why they didn’t receive any traffic. After staying on this treadmill for months or even years they become discouraged because they’re not generating sales from all their hard work. You should invest the same amount of time promoting your blog post as writing it otherwise no one will benefit from the great value you are offering.

  • 3. Most blog owners make the mistake of constantly creating new blog posts but do little or nopromotion afterwards then wander why they didn’t receive any traffic. After staying on thistreadmill for months or even years they become discouraged because they’re not generatingsales from all their hard work. You should invest the same amount of time promoting your blog post as writing it otherwiseno one will benefit from the great value you are offering.Wouldn’t you like to get hundreds or thousandsof people reading every post you create? Here are the 22 ways to promote your blog post:1. Create an epic postAn epic post is one that stands out from most other posts on the Net in the value it provides.Make them think that if the content had been offered as a product they would have beenwilling to pay for it.. The main purpose of an epic post is to provide such incredible value thatit naturally gets shared by others. Here are examples of 3 epic posts I’ve written lately:33 Points To Consider Before Choosing An Email List ProviderFree Web Hosting Guide: 33 Secrets You Probably Didn’t Know!Web Design Checklist: 55 Things Every Website Must Have2. Create a captivating headlineIf your headline doesn’t grab the attention of your readers they won’t continue reading theread of the post. Use this headline analyzer to experiment creating different headlines untilyou achieve an EMV (Emotional Marketing Value ) score of 50%-75%. This score is whatmost professional copywriters’ headlines will achieve while the most gifted copywriters willhave 50%-75% EMV words in their headlines.3. Share on Social MediaGoogle looks at the number of social signals your content receives to determine its rankingsin the search engines. So after you’ve published your post share it on your Facebook, Twitter,Google+ and LinkedIn accounts and encourage others to also share the content with theirnetwork of friends.4. Submit to JustReTweet.comTo get an initial boost in social traffic get your post retweeted by visiting JustReTweet.com.You gain credits by retweeting others content. With the credits you’ve accumulated you getothers to retweet your own post resulting in a nice boost in traffic.5. Create a StumbleUpon AdFor $10.00 you can receive 100 targeted views to your content. My experience in using thismethod of promotion is that you actually receive close to 200 views because the extra 100 are
  • 4. gained organically. Visit StumbleUpon.com to get started. Within a few hours of posting youradd you’ll see a nice spike in traffic directed toward the post you’re promoting.6. Email your listBuilding a list of subscribers is one of the greatest assets your business will have because thepeople on your list are usually the most responsive. Announce your post to your list and askthem to share it with their friends via their social media accounts.7. Create a YouTube videoYouTube videos receive billions of views each day. Make sure you capitalize on redirectingsome of that traffic to your own blog by converting some of your content into video andembedding it on your blog. A video reduces bounce rates (how long a person spends on yourpage) which helps improve your rankings.Create a 2-3 minute video illustrating one of the main points (or several points )in your contentthen upload it to YouTube.ExampleFor my epic post I created a YouTube video named Free Web Hosting Guide – 3 Secrets YouProbably Didn’t Know! then uploaded it to YouTube and embedded it within my post content toget it to rank. Last time I checked it ranked on the first page of YouTube for the keywordphrase “Free Web Hosting Guide.”8. Internal LinkingThe number and quality of links pointing to your own post helps increase its rankings in thesearch engines. Instead of getting links from other web properties first look for related contentto link to within your own blog. This helps visitors stay on your own blog instead of leavingand going elsewhere to find related information.Tip: Use the MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate Plugin to automatically convert keywords on yourblog into money making affiliate links. Not only does it link to affiliate products, you can set upcertain keywords to link to your previous posts9. Comment on related blogsThis strategy is only effective if your comment offers value to others. For instance if you justsay something “great post” or just promote your own product it will probably be viewed asspam and deleted. Instead search for blogs related to your niche that have a high level ofengagement then write a thoughtful comment that supplements the post.To search for related blogs use Google Blog Search, Technorati or simply enter“blog+keyword” in the Google search box.10. Submit to Slideshare.comConverting your content into a different format (re-purposing) enables you to reach a differentaudience. One of these ways is to create a slideshow of your content then submit toSlideshare.com. This can easily be done using Powerpoint or Keynote.
  • 5. Slideshare also allows you to submit PDF files so if if you can’t use slides convert yourcontent into a PDF file using OpenOffice.org (free software).11. Submit to Scribd.comScribd is a document sharing site which enables you to submit your PDF document . Makesure you include links in your content that redirect readers back to your blog post. Instead ofsubmitting the same content as on your blog, rewrite a portion of your content so it’s uniquebefore submitting it.Here’s a list of the top document sharing sites:Calameo.comDocStoc.comIssuu.comWattPad.comYudu.comGazhoo.comEdocr.comMemoWare.comZiddu.comWePapers.comEmpressr.com12. Convert to an infographicAn infographic is content displayed in graphical format so it’s easy to view. The fastest andeasiest method for getting this done is to search Fiver.com for someone that will do this for$5.00. After your infographic has been created submit it to Pinterest and include it on yourblog so visitors can link to it. Also offer readers to place it on their own blog as long as theyinclude a link back to your post.13. Convert to an Ebook or Short ReportIf you’ve created a long post (2-3000 words) convert it to PDF file and submit it to popularebook directories. Alternatively bundle several related posts together to create your ebook.Create an ecover graphic to place at the top of your content. Display the graphic on your blogto promote your ebook. Here is a list of the most popular ebook directories to submit to:Changethis.comFree-ebooks.netGetfreeebooks.comThefreesite.comEbookjungle.comE-library.netEbookdirectory.comMemoware.comEbook88.comSharewareebooks.com

By re-purposing your contentinto a Kindle book and publishing it on Amazon you can generate sales from the content youworked hard to create. With a little link building you easily get your book to rank on the firstpage of Google. To create your book use the .doc format, include page breaks between chapters, removebullet points, headers, footers and special fonts.
