2. 2. Term Review <ul><li>In a triangle with 2 sides of the same length, those 2 sides are called legs , and the 3rd side is called the base . </li></ul>
3. 3. Base Angles Theorem <ul><li>If 2 sides of a triangle are congruent, then the angles opposite them are congruent. </li></ul>
4. 4. Converse of Base Angles Theorem <ul><li>If 2 angles of a triangle are congruent, then the sides opposite them are congruent. </li></ul>
5. 5. Corollary to Base Angles Theorem <ul><li>If a triangle is equilateral, then it is equiangular. </li></ul>
6. 6. Corollary to Converse of Base Angles Theorem <ul><li>If a triangle is equiangular, then it is equilateral. </li></ul>
7. 7. Find the value of x and y <ul><li>What do we know about x? </li></ul><ul><li>x is an angle in an equilateral triangle. We know it is also . . . </li></ul><ul><li>Equiangular. So, 3x=180 </li></ul><ul><li>x = 60 </li></ul><ul><li>What do we know about y? </li></ul><ul><li>It is part of a linear pair </li></ul><ul><li>So, y = 180 - 60 = 120˚ </li></ul>x y
8. 8. Hypotenuse-Leg Congruence Theorem <ul><li>If the hypotenuse and a leg of a right triangle are congruent to the hypotenuse and a leg of a second right triangle, then the two triangles are congruent. </li></ul>
